Your Word for the Year: A Morning Practice for Intention and Clarity

Your Word for the Year: A Morning Practice for Intention and Clarity

Amon Medinger

As we welcome a new year, there’s something powerful about starting each day quietly, taking a moment of reflection with a single, intentional word in mind. Imagine choosing a word like “healing,” “courage,” “grace,” or simply “intention” itself to be your guiding mantra for the year ahead. This one word can become a touchstone, bringing you back to what truly matters whenever life gets busy.

Take a few minutes each morning—maybe with a comforting cup of Soul Healer Coffee—to sit quietly and reflect on the word you've chosen. Let it settle in your heart and guide your thoughts for the day.

Once you've chosen your word, consider how you might weave it into your everyday moments. If your word is “grace,” maybe it’s about offering yourself and others a bit more kindness. If it’s “courage,” perhaps it’s about taking one small brave step each day. Let your word be a gentle guide that shapes the way you move through the world today.

As the scripture says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed” (Proverbs 16:3). By anchoring yourself in this one word, you’re aligning your intentions with a higher purpose and inviting clarity into your daily life.

We’d love to hear your word for the year! Share it with us in the comments or on social media, and let’s inspire each other as we step into this new year with intention, courage, and grace.

I love this concept. My word of focus for 2026 will be “Surrender”. And what I mean by that is that I everything that comes to me this year I will surrender my control of it to the Lord, and let Him use me in a way that is Kingdom building through me.
